50th National Sport festival Cross-Country Race Set for Nuwara Eliya

The Sports Development Department of Sri Lanka is set to organize the cross-country running event as part of the prestigious 50th National Sports Festival. This highly anticipated competition will take place at the scenic Nuwara Eliya Golf Course, a venue well known for its challenging terrain and breathtaking surroundings.

A total of 144 athletes will compete in this event, representing all nine provinces of the country. Among them are 90 male athletes and 54 female athletes, showcasing a strong and diverse participation from across the nation. The competition highlights the growing interest in endurance sports and the commitment of athletes to represent their respective regions at a national level.

The cross-country event is expected to test the endurance, strength, and determination of the participants, as the course in Nuwara Eliya presents unique challenges due to its elevation and climate.
