Internal Audit Division

The Internal Audit Division of the Department of Sports Development is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes of the Department. The Division supports management in ensuring that resources are utilized economically, efficiently, and effectively in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and government policies.

The Internal Audit Division conducts systematic reviews and audits of financial, administrative, and operational activities to assess compliance, identify risks, and recommend improvements. Through timely audit reports, follow-up actions, and advisory services, the Division contributes to strengthening accountability, transparency, and good governance within the Department.

By promoting sound financial management practices and continuous improvement, the Internal Audit Division plays a vital role in supporting the achievement of the Department’s objectives and the sustainable development of the sports sector in Sri Lanka.
